Caitlin Coulson Pfeiffer is entering her 9th year of teaching and 5th year as the Miamisburg High School Choir Director. She holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in music education from Ohio University. Music and theatre have long been the joy of Caitlin's life, and she loves sharing her passions with her students. Within the past few years, Caitlin has provided many wonderful opportunities for the MHS Choir students: hosting workshops with professional Broadway performers and collegiate ensembles, performing at Dayton Dragons games, competing at Kings Island's Music In The Parks, and performing and volunteering at various school and community events.
Caitlin has been involved in the theatrical arts for the past 20 years, as both a performer and director. She has served in various roles in the MHS theatre program for the past 3 years, including director, assistant director, and music director on shows such as Mamma Mia!, The Little Mermaid, and Freaky Friday - One Act Edition. Most recently, she was seen on stage in the Springboro Community Theatre's productions of Spongebob The Musical (Electric
Skate) and Legally Blonde (Elle Woods). She also performs with the Springboro Community Choir and Grace Lutheran Church's Chancel Choir, and played in the pit orchestra as a percussionist for West Carrollton's production of Into The Woods.
While teaching at Miamisburg, Caitlin has performed as a snare drummer in the nationally recognized Band Director's Marching Band in the Rose Parade in Pasadena, California, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, and will be performing in the Rose Parade once again on January 1st, 2026. She has been a percussionist with the Star City Community Band, the Kettering Civic Band, and the Springboro Wind Symphony, where she has performed at prestigious events such as the Ohio Music Education Association Conference and the Midwest Clinic National Band and Orchestra Conference. She also teaches private voice lessons at Sand Dollar Music in Centerville.
When not teaching or performing (which isn't often!), she loves to drag her very supportive husband to local community and professional touring productions of musicals and plays. Her favorite place to travel is New York City, where (you've probably guessed) she finds a way to cram in as many shows as possible.
Caitlin is very excited to step into this new role and to continue to grow the MHS theatre program!
