The Lady Vikings traveled to Columbus over the weekend for the State Kickoff Tournament at HP Lanes, where they faced a deep and competitive field to open their season. The team battled through a full day of qualifying and match play, ultimately earning a spot in the Round of 16. Their run came to a close in a hard-fought matchup against Celina, where the Lady Vikings narrowly fell by just 38 pins in a contest that stayed tight from start to finish.
Junior Nevaeh Chapman and freshman Brooklyn Barnett set the tone throughout the tournament, delivering strong, steady performances that helped push the team into the championship bracket. Chapman provided veteran leadership in key moments, while Barnett’s impressive showing in her first major high school event highlighted the promise she brings to the lineup.
The Lady Vikings will now regroup and prepare for their next stretch of competition, returning to action after the Thanksgiving break with valuable experience and early momentum.
