Miamisburg Middle School wrestling opened its season Saturday at the Valley View Invitational, finishing ninth out of 19 teams with 108 team points.

Dylan Halsey placed third at 92 pounds with a 3-1 record and three pins. Ibrahim Imran finished fourth at 98 pounds, going 2-2 with one pin. Kaden Clemons-West earned fifth place at 104 pounds with a 3-2 record and two pins.

At 110 pounds, Joe Stanton went 2-2 with one pin but did not place. Jaxon Selmon finished 1-2 with one pin at 116 pounds. Gerome Parker placed fourth at 122 pounds with a strong 4-2 record and three pins.
David Helton Jr. went 1-2 with one pin at 128 pounds. Bryce Lucas finished 2-2 with one pin at 134 pounds. AJ Cox placed sixth at 142 pounds with a 2-3 record.

At 150 pounds, Mathew Derringer took fourth place, finishing 4-2 with two pins and one major decision. Jaden Carpenter went 2-2 with one pin at 160 pounds. JJ Coyle competed at 172 pounds and finished 0-2.
MMS did not have wrestlers entered at 80, 86, 205, or 245 pounds.

Despite the open weights, the team compiled enough wins and bonus points across the lineup to earn a top-10 team finish in its first tournament of the season.
