The Miamisburg Vikings bowling team finished third overall at the Back to School Bash, competing against 31 other teams in a strong field.

Following two traditional team games and four Baker games in qualifying, the Vikings led the entire field by 78 pins. This marks the second consecutive tournament in which Miamisburg has led qualifying.

In bracketed match play, the Vikings defeated Princeton 2–0 in the Round of 32 and followed with a 2–0 win over Milford in the Round of 16. In the quarterfinals, Miamisburg edged Fairfield 2–1 to advance to the semifinals. The Vikings dropped two closely contested matches in the semifinals to Lakota East to finish third overall.

Junior Grant Drusen led the way individually, rolling games of 237 and 197 to place fifth overall and earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

Looking ahead, the JV boys will compete at home Monday against Archbishop Carroll at 4:00 p.m. All teams return to action Wednesday, January 7, on the road against Fairmont at Poelking Woodman, with matches beginning at 4:00 p.m.
