The Miamisburg Vikings opened the new year with a road victory, defeating the Fairmont Firebirds 2482–2385. Despite being down two players, the Vikings delivered a strong team performance to secure the win.
Sophomore AJ Cannarozzi led the Vikings with a personal high school best, rolling games of 269 and 192 for a 461 series. He was followed by sophomore Zach Masters with a 417 series and junior James Chapman with a 412.
Miamisburg jumped out to an early advantage in the opening game, winning 1043–985. The Vikings extended their lead in game two, 1006–965. In the Baker games, Miamisburg posted scores of 246 and 187, while Fairmont rolled games of 231 and 204.
With the victory, the Vikings improve their season record to 5–2.
Miamisburg will be back in action on the road Friday when they take on Beavercreek.
