Varsity Girls Bowling dropped a hard-fought match to Fairmont on Tuesday at Poelking Woodman Lanes, falling 2099–1929 and moving to 5–2 on the season.
The match started tough for the Vikings as Fairmont took the opening game 921–816. The girls responded exactly how you want a team to respond. They regrouped, stayed composed, and battled back to win game two by the slimmest of margins, 848–846, showing grit and resilience in a pressure situation. Unfortunately, the momentum could not be carried into the two baker games, where Fairmont was able to pull away and secure the overall win.
Freshman Brooklyn Barnett led the way for Miamisburg with a strong two-game total of 381. Junior Nevaeh Chapman followed with 349, and Senior Austin Brewer added 342, giving the Vikings solid production across the lineup.
While the final result did not go their way, the girls showed fight, competitiveness, and the ability to answer adversity. That matters, especially as the season grinds on.
The Lady Vikings will look to bounce back quickly when they return to action Friday on the road against Beavercreek at Beaver Vu Lanes. Match time is 4 PM.
