The Lady Vikings traveled to Northmont Wednesday night for a GWOC battle vs the Lady Bolts.

Burg was off to a slow start in the first quarter, lots of great shots, but none were falling. End of the 1st Burg trailed 1-9. Heading into the 2nd quarter some shots began to fall, but N-Mont stayed consistent and hit some 3’s before the half. Halftime score Burg trailed 9-21.

Heading into the 3rd quarter the energy shifted & the Lady Viks started to make things happen on the offensive end. Defense picked up with some great team stops. Best quarter yet with 17 points. End of the 3rd Burg only trailed 26-31. The 4th quarter is where Miamisburg kept their foot on the gas and battled! Defensive stops were key this quarter & Burg held Northmont to only 5 points. Lady Viks made some great plays & got to the FT line often- scoring 14 points.

Final score: Lady Vikings 40 Northmont 36.

Scoring led by Sophomore Jordyn Mumpower with 10 points, followed by Freshman Katie Willis with 8 points, Freshman Kyndall Criswell with 7 points, Senior Addi Leber with 6 points, and Junior Mia Willis & Sophomore Mia Wineberg each added 3 points!

Huge team win for this group, all contributed to this! The second half fight is what pushed the Lady Viks ahead to get their first GWOC win of the season!

Our girls JV squad also picked up a win (their 4th in a row) vs Northmont 36-24 and that was our first sweep of the season!

Next up the Lady Vikings travel to Fairmont early Saturday morning for a round 2 GWOC matchup vs the Lady Firebirds.
