The Miamisburg Vikings continued their breakout season by capturing their third tournament championship in a row, winning the Boro Roll Off in impressive fashion.
Miamisburg jumped out early, rolling a 1007 in the opening qualifying game to take a 159-pin lead. The Vikings backed it up with a 1006 in Game 2, extending their advantage to 337 pins. In the six Baker games that followed, Miamisburg averaged 206, opening up a commanding 446-pin lead heading into match play.
In the match play portion of the tournament, the Vikings defeated Mississinawa 2-0 in the best-of-three series. Miamisburg then advanced to the stepladder finals to face Dayton Christian. The Vikings won Game 1, 172-136. Game 2 ended in a 179-179 tie, setting up a decisive third game, where Miamisburg pulled away for a 171-124 victory to secure the title.
Individually, the Vikings placed four bowlers on the All-Tournament Team. Sophomore Zach Masters led all bowlers, rolling games of 223 and 223. Junior Grant Drusen finished second overall with a 424 series, followed by Junior Andrew Parker, who placed fifth with a 402, and Sophomore Kayden Reboulet who placed sixth overall with a 401.
The championship marks a historic achievement for the program, as it is the first time a Miamisburg bowling team has captured three tournament titles in a single season.
