The Miamisburg Viking boys bowling team continued its historic season by capturing its fourth tournament championship of the year at the Worthington Kilbourne Wolves Post Season Prep Tournament, held at Holiday Lanes in Columbus.

The 18-team field competed in three traditional team games followed by six Baker games, with total pinfall determining the champion.

The Vikings opened the tournament with a strong showing, rolling a 1009 in Game 1 behind junior James Chapman’s 262. Miamisburg sat in third place after the opening game, just 13 pins behind Newark and 14 pins behind Marysville.

In Game 2, the Vikings surged to the top of the leaderboard with the highest game of the tournament, a 1088. Junior Andrew Parker led the charge with a 254, while sophomore Zach Masters added a 233, giving Miamisburg a 29-pin lead. The Vikings extended that advantage in Game 3 with a 986, pushing their lead to 109 pins heading into Baker play.

Miamisburg sealed the victory in the Baker games, becoming the only team in the tournament to average over 200 across six games. The Vikings posted scores of 213, 231, 192, 161, 254, and 172 for a 203 average. The strong Baker performance expanded the lead to 251 pins and secured the Vikings’ fourth consecutive tournament victory— the most in a single season in program history.

Chapman earned team honors with games of 262, 213, and 204 for a 679 series, placing him second overall and earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

The Miamisburg boys varsity team returns to action on the road against Northmont at Thunderbowl on Wednesday, February 11, with competition beginning at 4:00 p.m.
