The Miamisburg Vikings traveled to Springfield and came away with an impressive 2534–2280 victory over the Wildcats.
In Game 1, juniors Grant Drusen and Drew Parker set the tone early, firing outstanding games of 260 and 248 to lead the Vikings to a dominant 1135 team score. Springfield answered with a 980, giving Miamisburg a strong early advantage.
Game 2 was much tighter, as Drusen and Parker once again paced the lineup with matching 234 games. The Vikings rolled a 1014, just shy of Springfield’s 1018, but maintained a comfortable overall lead heading into Baker play.
In the Baker games, the Vikings pulled away for good, opening with strong efforts of 204 and 181, while holding the Wildcats to 131 and 151.
With the win, the Vikings improve to 9–5 in GWOC play. The nine conference victories mark the program’s highest GWOC win total since the 2006–07 season, when the team finished 11–4.
The Vikings will close out the regular season Friday against Tippecanoe in their final match of the year. It will also be Senior Night, with celebration activities beginning at 3:45 p.m.
The Vikings junior varsity boys bowling team delivered a dominant performance February 11th against Springfield, earning a convincing 1,709–831 victory.
Senior Dominic Meyer led the charge with steady games of 189 and 194 for a 383 series, setting the tone from the start. Michael Smart turned in his best series of the season, firing games of 189 and 177 for an impressive 366 total.
Gavan Towery added a strong 320 series, while Landen Caldwell stayed consistent with games of 164 and 165 for a 329 series. Every frame mattered, and the team showed great balance and focus throughout the match.
