The Lady Vikings hosted the Lady Cougars from Edgewood Wednesday night for their last regular season game & Senior Night!

Off to a strong start the Lady Viks came out swinging & knocked down some 3’s to take an early lead. Burg hitting 4 of them. Edgewood started to respond. End of the 1st quarter score was 17-10. The second quarter continued to be fast paced & physical on both ends of the floor. Burg was able to get to the FT line, but Edgewood started to get hot from the 3 & they hit 3 to bring the halftime score closer 29-25.

Second half Edgewood came out & really picked up the physicality. Burg stayed composed & allowed Edgewood to begin their foul trouble. Offensively the Cougars got some quick buckets on transition off mistakes from pressure. By the end of the 3rd qt they jumped ahead & Burg trailed 38-40. The energy in the gym the whole 4th quarter was wild. Back and forth each team would get a run going & then the other would match it. Edgewood continued to get in foul trouble, losing 2 starters in the 4th. Burg continued to handle the physicality, knock down key FTs & handle the last seconds of the game to take the win 51-48.

Scoring led by Senior Madalyn Ball with 17 points (4-3’s), followed by Senior Addi Leber & Sophomore Jordyn Mumpower with 8 points each, Senior Madi Dixon & Freshman Katie Willis each added 6 points a piece, and Junior Mia Willis with 3 points.

Tournament draw for Miamisburg will be this Sunday 2/15. OHSAA tournament will begin 2/19.
