Miamisburg Parks & Rec | 2/17/2026

Do you need a summer job? Would you like to work in your local community? We have 3 options for you!

Option #1 - You can be trained as an UMPIRE when you turn 13 years old and work right in the Miamisburg Community at Rice Field. The same MBSL program that you played in while growing up can also be a local summer job for you! Umpires at the youngest age level start out making at least $35 per game.

The umpire training class run by Home Field Instruction in Franklin, OH is an umpire mechanics course that runs on March 12 & March 22. You can register TODAY at Umpire Training Course.

Once training is complete, you will be paired with our local assignor, and YOU get to decide your schedule! Having enough trained umpires is an integral aspect to the MBSL program at Rice Field.

Option #2 – Apply for a seasonal job to work at Rice Field throughout the baseball and softball seasons as an Athletics Team Member! We need individuals that are 16 years of age that love being outside to help with daily field and facility preparation and concessions operations for Rice Field. Individuals will work evenings and weekends at Rice Field from April through mid-October. We are happy to work with your schedule to put YOU in the right situation! To apply, please go to Employment - Miamisburg Parks and Recreation and click on Athletics Team Member!

If you have any questions or would like to discuss working or umpiring at Rice Field, please reach out to Megan Rutledge at 937-219-3673 in the Miamisburg Parks and Recreation office.

Option #3 - Apply for a seasonal job as a Day Camp Leader for the Miamisburg Star City Camp program where you will get to work with kids in action packed days of fun. The season runs from May through the end of July. Schedules can vary for the position, but there is opportunity for individuals to work up to 40 hours per week. Individuals as young as 15 years old can apply and find out more information by going to Employment - Miamisburg Parks and Recreation and clicking on Day Camp Leader.
