The Miamisburg Vikings finished in 3rd place out of 29 teams to advance to the Southwest District Finals next Friday at Beaver-Vu Bowl.
The team started off slowly in Game 1, as missed spares plagued the Vikings through the first five frames. The team then settled down to roll a 953 game led by sophomores Zach Masters (236) and Kayden Reboulet (239). This placed Miamisburg in third place after the opening game, with the top 10 teams advancing to Districts.
In Game 2, junior Andrew Parker led the team with a 258, while junior Grant Drusen and Masters each added 219 games as the Vikings shot a 1056 to firmly hold their third-place position.
In the final traditional game, the team rolled a 1005 led by Parker with a 221. Miamisburg’s three-game total of 3014 placed them in third place, 186 pins ahead of fourth-place Piqua.
In the six-game Baker format, the Vikings averaged 208.5 to solidify their advancement behind Kettering Fairmont and Beavercreek.
The Vikings were led individually by Parker with a 660 series, finishing fourth overall, and Masters with a 650 series, finishing fifth overall.
This was a total team effort with every athlete contributing to help the Vikings advance to Districts.
