The Lady Vikings faced off vs the Lady Buccaneers from Xenia in the 1st round of the OHSAA D2 tournament on Thursday night in Fairborn.

Lady Viks were off to a slow start & struggled to hit from the outside early. After some adjustments & getting to the rim things started to fall for Burg. End of the 1st qt score was 14-2. Heading into the second quarter Burg tried to put the pressure on with some full court press & Xenia struggled to get the ball up. Halftime score was 32-6.

Heading into the second half Burg was focusing on executing offense and pushing the ball- they were able to get to the FT line off some drives & O-boards. End of the 3rd qt score was 47-10. With Burg in control of the game they were able to get plenty of different rotations in & get plenty of reps. Final score was 55-14.

Scoring was led by Sophomore Jordyn Mumpower & Freshman Katie Willis both with 10 points, followed by Senior Madalyn Ball with 9 points, Freshman Maya Pinto with 7 points, Seniors Addi Leber & Brooklynn Sykes each added 5 points, and Sophomore Mia Wineberg & Freshman Mia Botteicher each chipped in 3 points a piece.

Round #2 of the OHSAA tournament for the Lady Vikings will be next Wednesday at Fairborn HS vs Troy at 6pm!
