The Lady Vikings traveled to Fairborn HS Wednesday night to battle Troy in Round #2 of the OHSAA basketball tournament.

The Vikings came out swinging in the first quarter playing some extremely tough defense & knocked down some great shots to take a solid 10-1 lead by the end of the 1st quarter. The second quarter Troy made some adjustments & were able to get a couple 3’s to fall. Burg got some good O flowing, but did not get many to fall in the 2nd quarter. Troy out scored Burg 5-3 and going into half Burg led 13-6.

The second half kept the same pace & the physicality continued. Troy did not let up & continued to try and disrupt Burgs offense. Burg continued to play solid defense & make things hard for Troy. They were able to get a couple O-boards and put-backs to bring the end of 3rd quarter score Burg up 19-14. In the fourth quarter Troy hit 2 threes that kept their momentum and chase going. A lot of free throws shot in the final quarter helped Burg pull away and leave Troy behind. Burg went 13-16 from the FT line in the 4th to seal the win 37-27.

Scoring was led by Senior Madalyn Ball with 12 points, followed by Senior Addi Leber with 11 points, and Senior Brooklynn Sykes & Freshman Katie Willis both added with 6 points each!

The Lady Vikings will face off on Saturday afternoon for the District Finals vs Seton Saints at 1PM at Fairborn high school! COME SUPPORT!!
