Girls Bowling capped off their season this weekend at the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division I State Championships. Competing against the top 16 teams in the state, the Lady Vikings finished 14th. While not the outcome we wanted it will motivate us moving forward.
Prior to this season, Miamisburg had only advanced to the state finals once before. For a very young team, the experience of competing on the state’s biggest stage represents an important step in the continued growth of the program.
The Lady Vikings showed steady improvement throughout the season and finished with an impressive 11–3 in conference finishing 2nd, and 12-3 overall, with two girls each earning 1st and 2nd team All-GWOC honors. The progress reflects the rapid turnaround of the program over the past two seasons.
The season is not quite finished for the Lady Vikings. The team has also qualified for a national event in June, giving the athletes another opportunity to compete together before saying goodbye to the program’s seniors, Riley Blom and Austin Brewer.
Miamisburg would like to thank the families, students, and supporters who followed and encouraged the team throughout the season. The program also appreciates the continued support from the entire Viking community.
With a strong core of returning bowlers and valuable experience gained this season, the future continues to look bright for Miamisburg girls bowling.
