On March 28th The Vikings Varsity Boys Lacrosse team traveled to Carroll Highschool for a thrilling matchup against the Patiriots. In years passed this matchup has always created tight competition with close endings and this years contest stayed consistent. Cold weather as the seasons changed did not slow down either team from producing on offense while both teams struggled to stand tall on defense. The Vikings fell behind early, having to fight back from a five goal deficit at halftime. Successful in the comeback, the end of the fourth quarter produced a 14 to 14 score. Entering sudden death, the Vikings were hopeful after a long second half comeback which heavily swung in their favor. The Patriots ended up winning in sudden death with a goal halfway through the 4 minute period however the Vikings have shown massive improvements with a strong upperclassmen leadership group as well as young players who are filling roles and learning quickly. Vikings will travel to Bishop Fenwick on Monday 3/30 for a 7 pm matchup. Notable performances for the vikings include senior Captain Tanner Vongsy with 4 goals and 1 assist; Junior captain Landon Kresge with 2 goals and 1 assist; Goalkeeper Alex Fields with 14 saves; and sophomore attackman Landon Trupp with 2 goals and 1 assist.
