Plagued by Injuries, the Vikings Varsity Lacrosse team struggled at home against Waynesville. On Saturday 4/12 Boys Lacrosse hosted Waynesville in perfect weather for lacrosse with a final score of 15-3 in favor of Waynesville. Multiple starters are currently battling injuries which was a major hurdle in this matchup. Overall, great improvements are being shown across the board for a young team week in and week out. Offensive production lacked after the first quarter with only 3 total goals for the Vikings. Scorers include; Landon Trupp with one goal, Lincoln Bell with one goal, and Senior captain Tanner Vongsy with one goal. Defensively, there were some outstanding performances including Goalkeeper Alex fields with 9 saves in the first half alone, Liam Poore with 3 caused turnovers, and Carter Daugherty with 3 caused turnovers. Waynesville offense was consistent and broke the Vikings defense down with experienced ball movement and dodging. Team leaders who are battling injuries are projected to return to play the week following this matchup which brings hopes up for a win on the road on Monday 4/13 against Monroe.
