Miamisburg Varsity Softball put together a strong all-around performance on Friday, powering past Springfield 10–7 behind timely hitting, confident baserunning, and steady work in the circle.
The Vikings set the tone early in the top of the second, stringing together a smart, team-oriented inning. Khasawneh sparked the offense with a well-placed single to the right side, Lynch executed a clean sacrifice bunt to move runners, Johnson drilled a double to center, and Pigman followed with a sharp single to left. Each swing produced a run, giving Miamisburg early momentum and a 4-run frame built on execution and pressure.
Miamisburg added another big punch in the fifth when Wade delivered a no-doubt home run to left, driving in three and giving the Vikings a lift in the heart of the lineup.
In the circle, Pigman earned the complete-game win, battling through seven innings and showing poise throughout. She struck out seven, walked just one, and continued to anchor the team with her experience and competitiveness.
Offensively, the Vikings were locked in all night, tallying 15 hits. Wade’s three RBIs fueled the middle of the order, while Johnson was nearly unstoppable with a 4-for-5 performance at the plate. Pigman, Griffin, and Siney each added multiple hits, keeping pressure on Springfield from start to finish.
Miamisburg’s ability to produce runs in multiple innings, get contributions throughout the lineup, and stay composed in key moments carried them to another strong team win.
