Coach Derr has been an educator with Miamisburg City Schools since 2015 and currently serves as an art teacher at Miamisburg High School. She is also a dedicated three-sport coach with a passion for developing student-athletes both in and out of competition.
"I have served as the head coach of the Miamisburg Middle School swim team since 2019 while also assisting with the high school swim program. I have coached cross country for nine years and became the head coach of the Miamisburg High School cross country team in 2024. In addition, I have served as the head coach of the Miamisburg Middle School girls' track and field team since 2015. Coaching has provided me with the opportunity to positively impact the lives of student-athletes, and I am excited to continue that work as the head coach of the Miamisburg High School swim program."
Outside of coaching, I am an avid swimmer and endurance athlete who enjoys competing in triathlons. I have completed multiple half-Ironman races, as well as the full Ironman Lake Placid, experiences that have strengthened my appreciation for hard work, resilience, and goal-setting. My experiences as both an athlete and coach help me connect with swimmers and create a positive, challenging, and supportive environment where athletes can build confidence, reach their goals, and develop a lifelong love for the sport. I am excited to continue growing as a coach and sharing my passion for swimming with our high school athletes.
