The Miamisburg Vikings closed out their season on Friday night with a matchup against the rival Springboro Panthers. Despite a final score of 35–7 in favor of Springboro, the Vikings showed resilience and determination from start to finish.
The game began with promise for Miamisburg as the offense moved the chains early, picking up a few key first downs on their opening drive. However, momentum swung when Springboro intercepted a pass and returned it deep into Viking territory, setting up a short field. The Miamisburg defense held strong and forced a fourth-down situation, but the Panthers managed to punch it in for the game’s first score.
From that point on, the Vikings continued to fight with grit on both sides of the ball. In the second half, quarterback Finn Freshwater entered the game and provided a spark for the offense, completing 10 of 17 passes for 160 yards, including a highlight 66-yard touchdown strike to Kingston Majeed. Wide receiver Tristan Bolden was a major contributor as well, hauling in seven receptions for 107 yards in one of his best performances of the season.
Although the final score didn’t go Miamisburg’s way, the Vikings’ effort never wavered. The team’s 2–8 record doesn’t tell the full story of a season filled with close games, growth, and perseverance. With a strong core of players returning next year, the Vikings are already looking forward to building on this experience and coming back stronger.
As the lights went out in Springboro on Friday night, one thing was clear — the heart and fight of this Miamisburg team will carry over into 2026.
