The Miamisburg girls bowling team delivered a season-defining performance Friday at Poelking South Lanes, defeating Centerville 2,331–2,007 in Greater Western Ohio Conference action.
Miamisburg blew the match open in the opening game with an incredible 1,067 team score, where every bowler in the lineup rolled 200 or better. The Vikings followed that with a strong 921 in game two, leaving no doubt before baker play even began. Centerville posted games of 774 and 829, then closed with baker games of 192 and 212.
The individual performances reflected the team’s depth and balance. Junior Nevaeh Chapman led the lineup with games of 225 and 204, while freshman Madilyn Zinn continued her steady play with 200 and 203. Senior Riley Blom added 223 and 164, freshman Brooklyn Barnett rolled 203 and 185, and sophomore Madi Gordon finished with 216 and 165 as part of the rotation on a record-setting night.
The 2,331 team total stands as the highest match score in the GWOC this season. With the win, Miamisburg improves to 8–3 in conference play, continuing to build momentum heading into the postseason.
On the junior varsity side, the Lady Vikings also picked up a convincing win, defeating Centerville 1,499–1,034. Freshman Emma Leibst led the way with a 299, continuing a stretch of strong performances as her confidence and consistency continue to grow.
The varsity team will be back in action Saturday, traveling to Columbus to compete in the Kilbourne Postseason Prep Tournament at Holiday Lanes, with competition beginning at noon.
