The Miamisburg Varsity Boys Bowling team picked up a key road victory, defeating the Northmont Thunderbolts 2686–2563.
Game 1 was tightly contested, with the Vikings posting a 1093 team game to Northmont’s 1068. Junior Andrew Parker led the way with a 253, while sophomore Kayden Reboulet added a strong 244.
The Vikings broke the match open in Game 2, knocking down pins at a furious pace. Parker rolled a blazing 289, junior Grant Drusen followed with a 276, and sophomore Zach Masters chipped in a 258 to power Miamisburg to a 1204 team game. The score fell just seven pins shy of the school record 1211 set earlier this season on December 8. Northmont finished the game with a 1058.
In the Baker portion of the match, the Vikings rolled games of 201 and 188, while the Thunderbolts posted scores of 196 and 241.
The win improves Miamisburg’s GWOC record to 7–5 with two matches remaining next week.
Individually, Parker’s two-game series of 542 set a new junior two-game series record, breaking the previous mark by six pins that had stood since the 2015–16 season, set by Matt Derocher. Other notable series included Drusen with 478, Masters with 450, and Reboulet with 446.
The Vikings return to action at home on Monday, February 9, when they host the Fairmont Firebirds at 4:00 p.m.
Junior varsity boys bowling captured a big road win today at Northmont, taking the match 1,890–1,409. The Vikings were led by Ty Back, who caught fire with his career-high game of 256 and his highest series of the season at 446. Dominic Meyer added another strong performance, posting a 210 game and a 364 series to help seal the victory.
The boys travel to Columbus HP Lanes this Saturday for the JV State Championship tournament.
