Miamisburg came up just short in a 4–3 matchup at Stebbins on Thursday, but the Vikings still walked away with several strong performances that stood out throughout the game.
Miamisburg opened the scoring early when Wade connected for a home run to left field in the first inning, giving the Vikings an immediate spark. Wade went on to drive in all three of Miamisburg’s runs, continuing to be a reliable force in the middle of the lineup.
In the circle, Pigman delivered a standout pitching performance, striking out 13 batters without issuing a walk. Her ability to generate swings and misses kept Miamisburg in position throughout the game, allowing only two earned runs over six and two-thirds innings.
The Vikings also saw production deeper in the order. Lynch led the team with two hits, going 2-for-3 and adding two stolen bases to help create opportunities on the bases. Miamisburg collected five hits overall and showed flashes of what the lineup is capable of as the season continues.
Stebbins tied the game in the seventh with a pair of singles and ultimately pushed across the deciding run, but Miamisburg’s pitching and efforts kept the contest within reach from start to finish.
While the outcome wasn’t what the Vikings hoped for, the game underscored several positives — power at the plate, a dominant outing in the circle, and contributions from multiple spots in the lineup. Miamisburg moves forward with clear strengths to build on as they continue their season.
