Miamisburg hung in the game for the first three innings, matching Beavercreek’s energy and competing pitch-for-pitch before the Beavers’ offense heated up in the later frames. Despite the 14–0 final, the Vikings continued to show resilience, effort, and individual strengths throughout Wednesday’s matchup.
The Vikings had several standout defensive moments, including Wade’s locked-in play at third base, where she provided steady, reliable coverage and helped anchor the infield. She also contributed at the plate with a solid hit, adding to Miamisburg’s offensive efforts. Alongside her, Maya McPherson showed maximum effort at shortstop, ranging well, staying aggressive on every ball, and bringing energy to the middle infield throughout the night.
At the plate, Siney and Hemberger each collected a hit, giving Miamisburg three total hitters who broke through against a pitcher who allowed only three hits all game. The Vikings continued to put the ball in play and stayed aggressive, showing competitive at-bats even as Beavercreek limited scoring opportunities.
In the circle, Pigman struck out eight with zero walks, demonstrating command and the ability to generate swings and misses against a lineup that consistently found gaps. Her strikeout total was one of the strongest individual performances of the game.
Defensively, the Vikings stayed engaged through long innings, limiting extra-base damage in several key moments and continuing to compete with effort and focus.
Miamisburg now turns its attention to Friday’s rematch on the road at Beavercreek, carrying forward the positives — contact at the plate, dependable infield play from Wade and McPherson, and strikeout ability in the circle. The Vikings head into the next matchup with an opportunity to respond, reset, and show the growth that continues to build.
